Buganda Region Football League (BRFL) Finals:
Buwambo United Football Club Vs Luweero United Football Club.
Buwambo United FC and Luweero United FC will be battling it out in the finals of the 2019/20 Buganda Region Football League.
The development comes following the address by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) president, Engineer Moses Magogo, about the status of the 2019/20 football season in Uganda on Wednesday 20th, May 2020 at FUFA House, Mengo.
As per FUFA, to reach the decisions announced, including crowning Vipers SC as the 2019/20 SUPL champions, there was “application of the 75% rule, since one (1) club has played 75% of their games”.
“At least one club (Buikwe Red Stars Football Club) having played 15 out of 20
matches (75%) the FCR Article 18(c) is applied and the table standings
Consequently, final play off is Luweero United Football Club (Ssezibwa) versus
Buwambo United Football Club (Katonga)”
Luweero United FC finished as Ssezibwa group leaders, after collecting thirty three (33) points from their fourteen (14) games.
Buwambo United FC finished as leaders of Katonga group with thirty four (34) points from the sixteen (16) games they played.
The Buganda Region Women League has been canceled.
Meanwhile, the Buganda Juniors League, which was yet to kick off, will not be played this season.
All district leagues, that is fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) divisions, will be canceled, with neither a champion nor relegation.
The overall winners of the Buganda Region Football League will walk away with a cash prize of two (2) million Uganda shillings.
The 2019/20 promotional playoffs will be hosted by the Masaka District Football Association.
